Collaborations & projects
Cooperation programme: Npuls
Together with Npuls, the National Growth Fund programme by and for all public Dutch higher education institutions, we are working within the Digital Learning Resources transformation hub to create a more efficient and accessible system for digital learning resources. In doing so, we focus on the following objectives:
- Taking control at educational institutions
As the education sector, we are taking control of the creation, sharing, reuse and procurement of digital educational resources. We do this by facilitating discussions about copyright, data, metadata, IT standards and the procurement and co-creation of educational resources. We record the agreements in a public-private agreement system. - Naturally open
Npuls supports educational institutions to make the use of OERs self-evident. The focus is on policy, and on the organisation and awareness surrounding the development, sharing and use/reuse of digital OERs. We also encourage knowledge sharing within the edusources community. - Access at one central location
Through Npuls, lecturers and learners get access to a diverse and up-to-date range of digital educational resources at one central location. To this end, Npuls is developing a national digital ecosystem for sharing and reusing digital educational resources for all sectors.
More information about the activities can be found in the roadmap of the digital learning resources transformation hub. Also see the annual plan 2024, which also includes the bigger ambitions until 2032, or the presentations.
Service portfolio and further development
In the coming years, SURF will work on a coherent service portfolio for digital educational resources. This consists of edusources, NL Bron/sharecontrol, CopyrightCheck, copyright.nl and joint procurement of digital educational resources and support for lecturers and education professionals.
Technical further development
WithinNpuls' Digital Learning Resources Transformation Hub, we are working with theLibraries Open & Online Education Working Groupon the technical further development of edusources, so that lecturers get the right support to more easily share and (re)use digital learning resources.
Projects from the Open and Online Education Incentive Scheme
Grants from theIncentiveSchemefor Open and Online Educationhave helped realise innovative projects involving open digital educational resources in recent years. All educational resources from these projects are available under an open licence to both lecturers and students.
