RDM platform 'as-a-service'

iRODS is open-source data management software that offers a range of research data management (RDM) functionalities, such as secure data sharing, storage virtualisation, metadata management, access control and rule-based workflows. This allows you to comply with your institution's data management policies.

Although powerful and flexible, iRODS is quite complex middleware that needs further configuration and integration before it can be used by researchers. Institutions do not always have the expertise available to develop and manage an iRODS environment without hefty investments.

With iRODS Hosting, SURF offers the possibility of using a (partially or fully) hosted iRODS environment. This significantly lowers the threshold for using iRODS. If required, we can support in configuring and integrating the hosted iRODS environment with existing systems.
