What does SURFcert do?

SURFcert is the Computer Emergency Response Team for education and research. In the event of cyber attacks, SURFcert provides support and advice. This team consists of security experts from member institutions and SURF. SURFcert is on standby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, continuously checking for threats on the network and acting proactively. SURFcert is in close contact with the Incident Response Teams at member institutions. SURFcert also maintains contact with other relevant organisations such as the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

Sending confidential messages to SURFcert?

Use the SURFcert PGP key to send confidential messages to SURFcert and to verify the authenticity of SURFcert's digital signature.

SURFcert is certified by Trusted Introducer and a member of FIRST.

Join the SCIRT community

Are you an operational security expert? Then join the private security community SCIRT: the SURF Community of Incident Response Teams. It is the place where you can discuss security challenges and exchange tips with other operational security experts. Among other things, SURFcert also shares technical attack characteristics (Indicators of Compromise) of security incidents via SCIRT. As sensitive information is shared, we have a code of conduct and a login procedure.
