Certificate validity period getting shorter
Since 2015, the trend within the CA/Browser Forum has been that the maximum allowed validity period of certificates is getting shorter and shorter. For most applications, it is now 1 year. While it is not yet clear when the maximum certificate duration for TLS certificates will go to 90 days, we do know that this is inevitably coming.
Automating certificate management important
Given the above development, it is important to move to automated certificate management. This can be done using the ACME protocol. With this, you not only take care of managing your certificates, but you also arrange for them to be renewed automatically.
This session is designed to help you transition to automated certificate management, keeping in mind the upcoming developments around certificate duration.
