What is the Guidance Ethics approach?

The Guidance Ethics approach is a participatory method that provides concrete tools to apply technology in an ethically responsible way. This approach helps you make conscious decisions and integrate ethics into practice in a practical manner. During this workshop, you will explore the theory and immediately put it into practice.

What will you do?

In the morning, you will be introduced to the basic principles of guidance ethics. What does it entail? Why is it important? And how can you apply it? Then we will immediately put theory into practice: time to practice with a counselling session.

In the afternoon, we delve into the application of counselling ethics. You discover different ways of using the method and we look at the roles you can take in it. Together, we explore how you can use counselling ethics in your own practice and specific cases, so that afterwards you know how to integrate it into your own working practice.

What will you learn?

After this workshop:

  • You will understand what counselling ethics is.
  • You will be able to recognise and address ethical issues in your own work environment.
  • You will have practical tools to use technology responsibly and guide a counselling ethics session.
