Responding to the current situation

At a time when cyber attacks are becoming increasingly advanced, basic IT security knowledge is crucial for anyone working with digital systems. During this training, you will learn how cyber attacks work, discuss secure work processes and discover how to identify different types of threats and protect sensitive data. With the knowledge from this training, you will be able to confidently contribute to a secure working environment and be able to recognise and implement IT security improvements within your organisation. Strengthen your IT security knowledge and become an indispensable link in your organisation's security chain!

Getting started with TRANSITS Essentials

The following components are covered in the training:

  • Introduction to cybersecurity
  • How does the Cyber Kill Chain work?
  • Different types of IT security-related incidents
  • How can you better protect yourself and your organisation?

Attention to your own input

TRANSITS Essentials is a one-day training with a maximum of 20 participants. There is plenty of room for personal input and you can ask all your questions. During the training, we also look at how IT security is organised in your organisation and how you can better protect yourself and your organisation digitally.

For whom?

This training course is aimed at IT service desk and helpdesk staff, as well as IT professionals (from SURF member institutions) who wish to deepen their knowledge of cyber security. Prior knowledge of Internet technology and/or (information) security is useful, but not necessary to participate in the training.

Please note that this training is not a replacement for the already existing TRANSITS trainings as for CSIRT members there are the world-famous TRANSITS I and II trainings. Read more about these trainings:

Programme

We start at 09.00 with coffee and the training will take place from 09.30 to 17.30. Coffee, tea, water and lunch are included.

Costs

Due to the pilot phase of this one-day training course, there are no costs for SURF members.
