The SURFaudit Privacy Assessment Framework provides a solid foundation and reference point for measuring the extent to which the protection of personal data within various educational sectors (primary/secondary education, vocational education, universities of applied sciences, and research universities) complies with the sector standard. This framework offers institutions valuable insights, guidelines, and next steps to strengthen their data protection practices. Institutions can systematically evaluate and optimise their processes, activities, and measures, leading to improved privacy protection.

The framework enhances awareness, identifies potential shortcomings and risks, and supports the implementation of appropriate measures to ensure the secure processing of personal data. The SURFaudit Privacy Assessment Framework serves as a reliable guide for institutions striving to foster a strong data protection culture and compliance with the GDPR. Additionally, the framework is used for the national privacy benchmark within the education sector.

Who is this masterclass for?

The Masterclass Privacy Assessment Framework is designed for privacy officers, data protection officers (DPOs), IBP advisors, and (IT) auditors/controllers. Given the overlap between information security and data protection, this masterclass is also valuable for colleagues specialising in information security within the education sector.

Getting started with the Privacy Assessment Framework

Under the guidance of privacy consultant Erik van den Beld, you will work hands-on with the framework, exploring its domains and key statements. This will help you familiarise yourself with the framework and its application.

Participants will include colleagues from various education sectors. Through interactive exercises, you will gain knowledge and practical experience in using and completing the framework, including assessing maturity levels. There will also be plenty of opportunities for informal discussions and networking, both during and after the masterclass.
