Open Research Information
By making research information openly available, we also enhance the transparency of the information, allowing for a clearer understanding of the research landscape. This openness also supports the enforcement of standards and principles, safeguarding the autonomy and digital sovereignty of the research community.
SURF's Open Research Information (ORI) roadmap is a cornerstone of our mission to strengthen open science. Our efforts focus on laying the foundation for a robust open research infrastructure, increasing the quality and coverage of metadata, and connecting and enriching research information. By making research information visible and reusable, we aim to create a network of knowledge that is greater than the sum of its parts, facilitating further discovery and innovation. SURF plays a pivotal role in advocating for transparency, accessibility, and the removal of proprietary restrictions, in alignment with the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information.
