XR in education and research
XR (extended reality) technology is an umbrella term for Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR). XR allows you to approximate a real-world experience in a virtual setting.
Different forms within XR
- VR creates a completely computer-generated environment that replaces the real world.
- AR adds digital information or virtual objects to the physical world.
- MR goes a step further than AR by adding interaction between the user and virtual elements.
