App

Usage and download

This year, we are using a new event app for the first time, called Yellenge.
In the app, you’ll find everything about the program, speakers, and location. Get ready to make the most of your visit!

Features

Mark sessions as favorites
For each session, you can see how many people have marked it as a favorite and how many seats are still available. This helps you estimate if there’s still space to participate. Note: Marking a session as a favorite does not mean you are registered. It only allows you to customize your personal program in the app.

Rate sessions
After each session, share your feedback to help us improve the experience further.

Make your profile visible
By making your profile visible and marking sessions as favorites, other attendees can see which sessions you plan to attend.

Download Instructions

  1. Open the app ‘Yellenge’ and use the event code. (The code will be provided shortly before the event.)
  2. Log in with your personal code. You will receive the code via email.
(Didn’t receive the code? Email us at researchweek@surf.nl or visit the information desk during Research Day)

By downloading the Yellenge event app, you accept that personal data will be processed. Learn more in SURF’s privacy statement.

Prefer not to download the app?

Recordings and photos

Will there be recordings during the event?

Yes, the plenary sessions and some parallel sessions will be recorded. These will be available after SURF Education Days to all attendees of the event. After the event, the recordings will also be made publicly available to anyone who did not attend. For more information, see the privacy statement on SURF.nl.

Would you rather not appear in a photo or video? Then ask for a red key cord when entering the event and wear it throughout the day.

External camera crews

During SURF events, external camera journalists are sometimes present to provide an atmospheric impression of the event. In some cases, they also conduct short interviews with visitors and speakers. You give permission for these short interviews. The atmospheric impression will only be published after the interviewees' approval.

Sustainability

What does SURF do about sustainability around events?

SURF is committed to sustainability at events through several measures:

  1. Paperless: SURF promotes the use of digital tools to minimize paper usage, including digital programs, tickets, and brochures. This significantly reduces the environmental footprint of events.
  2. Vegetarian Catering: SURF prefers vegetarian options for event catering, which helps reduce environmental impact since producing vegetarian food is generally less harmful to the environment than animal products.
  3. SURF events app: Sustainability is important to SURF. That's why we consciously choose a digital program booklet: The events app; Yellenge. Here you will find the program, the map, the speakers, and you can connect with visitors.
