How is it that board members do not always make important cybersecurity decisions with the right information? Do board members and techies even speak the same language? It starts with mutual understanding of risks and interests. A starting point that seems logical, yet cyber defence specialist Jeroen Brouwer often saw things go wrong in practice between board members and cisos (chief information and security officers). He wrote the book Cyber Fairy Tales to create 'common ground'. And then how do you move forward from that 'common ground'? Risk management specialist and author of the book Risk Dialogue Martin van Staveren came up with a new way of risk management. A way that brings cyber security back into all layers and all conversations in the organisation.
