This was National XR Day 2024!

The National XR Day on 3 July 2024 brought together many XR-interested people from all over the Netherlands. Over 400 participants gathered at the University of Twente to discover what XR can mean for education and research. Watch the video now!

Building on the success of the previous edition at TU Delft, the National XR Day was filled with demos, networking opportunities, project presentations and the launch of the XR Trends Update, among other things. With the central theme "Connecting Realities", the day offered an interesting and broad overview of XR developments in the sectors of mbo, hbo, university, research and health. Visitors were treated to more than 50 break-out sessions to get inspiration on the latest trends. Keynote speaker Zerrin Yumak of Utrecht University gave a talk on research into socially interactive 3D digital humans and the challenges and future directions in this field. The day also marked the launch of SURF's XR Trends Update.
