New co-creation opportunities on Experimental Technologies Platform for AI and HPC applications

SURF's Experimental Technologies Platform, the collaborative environment where the industry can experiment with advanced IT technologies in advanced computing and data-driven science, has been expanded. A collaboration with Cornelis Networks offers new opportunities for researchers and IT engineers looking to optimise their AI and HPC applications.

Cornelis

Cornelis Networks offers fast, low-latency networks for high-performance computing clusters, which researchers and IT engineers from our institutions can test on the Experimental Technologies Platform.

Future collaboration

In a proof of concept in 2023, we integrated components from Cornelis Networks into SURF's existing infrastructure. The results were promising: performance was indeed improved. In the future, the focus will shift to realistic applications on SURF's infrastructure. There are also plans to investigate the execution of tasks within the infrastructure, further optimising research workflows.
