Almost all educational institutions now have something happening in the field of XR. And that is great to see. There is a lot of trying and experimenting and all kinds of cool applications. Students practice their knowledge and skills in beautiful virtual worlds such as the human body, a courtroom, a laboratory and the past. And more and more possibilities are being added. If, as an educational institution, you are not yet doing anything in the field of XR, now is the time to step in.

XR in education is not only about new technologies, state-of-the-art devices and added value in education, but also about values and ethics. For instance, how does XR affect the design of education and students' perceptions? And how inclusive and safe is XR?

Collaboration on XR within education seems perfectly logical at first glance. The challenges are considerable, the work is intensive, human resources are limited and the need for new applications and uses is steadily increasing. Yet collaboration is still far from self-evident.

You can have such great plans to enrich your education with XR but you also have to know how to sell those plans. And that goes beyond a presentation or a video. Above all, let people experience XR for themselves. Chances are they will be sold afterwards.
